Bridal hair and make up inspired by Reem Akra

Last week I introduced to you the Mirror, Mirror wedding gown collection by the visionary designer Reem Akra and I have to say it is very special indeed. With its combination of chic style and (very!) romantic touches, this beautiful collection has everything that a bride could possibly want from a wedding dress.
One of the biggest reasons I admire bridal designers is that the vision behind their dresses looks so effortless but is always spot on.
You just know by looking at Reem Akra’s collections, that she knows exactly who is going to wear her dresses. It’s like she gets right inside a bride’s mind and can turn their dreams into silk, satin, lace and the perfect cut. She also shows you exactly how to don her gowns so that you are at your most beautiful with everything in harmony.
So I’d say that if you are looking for something sophisticated and romantic, Reem Akra is the kind of designer to inspire your most flamboyant yet classy vision for your wedding dress. Do not hold back!
Going back to the idea of harmony that I mentioned, Reem Akra is also overflowing with all sorts of ideas for hair and makeup and with spring soon in the air, it looks like a pale and healthy glow is the order of the day. Keep eye makeup natural to match the season while lips can have fruity accents. If you like a muted look keep it peachy and if you prefer a dramatic tone, a deep cherry hue is perfect.
Reem Acra’s quietly dramatic dresses allow you licence with your hair style so feel free to let it hang loose and flowing with gentle, cascading waves.
Any hair colours go well with these dresses because any beautiful bride does! But I did notice that Reem Acra seemed to be especially inspired by golden blonde to dark honey in the hair department for her spring collection. But whether it’s natural blonde, glowing copper or rich chestnut, I think the season calls for a play with the shades of your hair to create a mild, natural look.
Also, I personally think there’s just something about freckles and spring that go hand in hand so you’ve got some lovely freckles on your nose, you’re onto a winner!
Of course, when it comes to complementing your ideal dress, the best beauty accessory is your smile!
